SCOOP: Insiders Whisper Murkmoor Engines Exploring Bristwick Thornfield Trade with Crestfall
Sources allegedly close to sources say the Engines might send their chaos-gremlin midfielder and a first-rounder to Crestfall. Unconfirmed. Probably.

Look, I overheard this from someone who definitely knows someone, so grain of salt the size of a whole salt lick. But according to multiple vague whispers and one guy at a league bar who was definitely three drinks in, the Murkmoor Engines are in "preliminary exploratory preliminary conversations" with the Crestfall Collective about moving Bristwick Thornfield, the league's weirdest midfielder and alleged chaos agent.
The alleged framework: Thornfield (27 years old, two Girlyman Awards, banned from three team facilities for "vibes," massive Discord presence) plus a first-round pick supposedly heading to Crestfall. In return? The Collective's offering three players TBD, a conditional asset, and possibly their entire 2027 cap space. Maybe. Allegedly.
Why would Murkmoor do this? Their GM allegedly muttered something about "course correction" after last season's historic negative goal differential (they scored 34, conceded 87). Their defense isn't so much "bend don't break" as it is "continuously shatter." Thornfield's ankle-breaking ball control is the only thing that matters, and apparently that's not enough anymore.
Why would Crestfall bite? Because they're contractually obligated to make catastrophically optimistic roster moves every July. Their front office sees "talented midfielder" and their eyes go $$$$. Never mind that they still owe dead money to four players they traded last year.
Thornfield's agent said "no comment." His agent's agent said "absolutely not." The Collective's GM responded to my DM with the poop emoji and nothing else.
Both teams have publicly denied any talks. Thornfield posted a Reels video about being "loyal" while subtly liking posts about Crestfall's stadium. The Engines' official account replied with a GIF of someone closing a door. This is definitely a negotiation tactic and definitely not them just vibing.
Real talk? 45% chance this happens. 30% chance it gets restructured into something completely different. 25% chance everyone involved gets benched for drama. The vibes are fundamentally unserious.
Stay locked in. Or don't. We're all just making this up anyway.
